What’s New at Liberty Mountain?
Liberty Mountain Resort is continuing to develop a year round oasis for all who love the outdoors. Below is a look at our current resort enhancements, as well as an overview of some projects taking place in the near future.
More Snowmaking Power!
Five new fully automated TechnoAlpin snow machines are being installed around the base area of the mountain. These guns will be integrated into our computerized snowmaking system, which is also receiving a full upgrade to the latest software technology. These new guns, the top of technology from TechnoAlpin, enable the optimum production of quality snow in any condition. These additional snow machines and enhancements will equate to better and longer-lasting snow coverage throughout the mountain!
New Pisten Bully 600 Winch Cat Groomer
This $400,000 of pure muscle will make the quality of our grooming even better! This brand new, state-of-the-art groomer is the largest and most powerful snow grooming machine made anywhere! In addition to the awesome power of this machine, the added a “winching” attachment which allows this snow cat to groom and push snow uphill!
The Alpine Courtyard Ice Skating Rink adds a Season Pass Offering
Last year’s addition of Ice Skating in the Alpine Courtyard proved to be so popular, we are going to make it even easier to enjoy the ice all season long! Our new $75 ice skating season pass gives holders unlimited ice time and skate rental anytime the rink is open!
Next summer, we hope to be replacing our Terrain Park J-Bar surface lift with a completely reconditioned CTEC Triple Chairlift! We have purchased this chairlift and reconditioning and permitting are in progress. The chairlift is similar to our Alpine Quad and First Class Quad in appearance and style. It will be installed just above (and between) the Dipsy Quad and Alpine Quad chairlifts. Lift service will be along the left side of the Terrain Park (looking up hill) and unload a bit further uphill than the existing Alpine Quad Chairlift mid station. During busy times, skiers and riders will be able to access our terrain parks by way of two chairlifts, both this new triple lift and the existing Alpine Quad mid station.
Liberty’s newest acquisition is the stone manor house, Fairway Springs, located along the first fairway of the golf course and on the right of Sanders Road as you approach the main resort. Built in 1840, this historic manor house will be thoughtfully renovated to become a most unique and intimate wedding and banquet venue. Plans include the addition of a reception venue, a deck overlooking the source of the natural spring, and a wooded outdoor ceremony location overlooking the spring fed pond. We anticipate this new venue to be available in spring of 2019.
Future Masterplan Phases
The next phases of our Masterplan will continue in the next 5 years to come. These phases include more architectural updates and enhancements on the ski-side buildings. All the exteriors of existing buildings will soon match in architectural style and color, that complement the new Highland Lodge and Fairway Hotel. We also have plans to construct an addition to the Fairway Hotel, adding more lodging rooms and suites, and connecting the Highland Lodge to the Fairway hotel via an elevated Bridgeway. This will bring our total guest room count to about 160 and provide greater capacity for groups and events to take place at our resort.
